Kookies Crafts Fundraiser for Nsanje District in Malawi
Kookies Crafts has been fund raising for Nasanje District in Malawi since May 2021, the response from people and businesses has been amazing. We have raised £2,300.00 This is what we have achieved: 10 Children supported to be in education and school uniforms. Philip has been accepted into Mzuni University to study Environmental science, (Batchelor of science\). Irrigation has been installed from the river Shire which means the farmers in the village no longer have to rely on seasonal rain. Crops are now flourishing even though it is not crop season. The church building which was demolished in a storm in 2015 has now been rebuilt and just awaiting the roof to be put on. Materials for this has been purchased. Pastor Charles and his wife Sigress have worked tirelessly to put all the above in place and will continue to do so. I will continue to support this cause and the vision that Pastor Charles has which is to create a feeding station for the orphans and the elderly. I will continue to support the children and students to receive an education. Also fundraising for fencing to protect the 5 hectares of farming fields. Cost is £3,000.00. You can support this project by Giving, Attending fund raising events, Booking onto craft workshops, Following us on Facebook and liking, sharing and commenting.
I am the owner of Kookies Craft and my daughter owns The Oven Door bakery above us (we really are a family business). Crafting is something I have done most of my life, from school projects to teaching one to one workshops. Crafting is stress free, therapeutic and self satisfying and I truly believe anyone has the ability to craft. One of my biggest crafting passions is Powertex and I am a register stocklist and trainer of Powertex. I offer a fantastic range of workshops for all ages and abilities plus handmade unique gifts, craft supplies and craft packs.
Also part of the family, Viv is my mother in law. I assist Kookies with social media, marketing and the website and I run my mindfulness and craft workshops for parents and their little ones out of Kookies Workshop. My business is called Mindfully making it, click here if you want to find out more. I have always been creative and did a Fashion & Textiles with Business degree. After having my daughter in August last year I have fallen back in love with crafting and creating. I think its the perfect mindfulness activity and like Viv I love that it is accessible for everyone.
