Welcome to Mindfully making it
Mindfulness and craft group for parents/carers and their little ones
About Mindfully making it
I’m Antonia and this is my daughter Ahyoka and together we are Mindfully making it (though honestly I do most of the work). However Ahyoka was the inspiration behind Mindfully making it so she is worth a mention.
When I had Ahyoka in August last year. I found becoming a parent a lot harder than I expected, as did my partner. Some days it felt like were barely making it. We started to practise mindfulness as family and found it really help to ground us in those difficult moments.
Now it is part of our daily routine and we plan to continue adapt our family mindfulness practises as our daughter grows. Mindfulness has helped my family so much and therefore I am really passionate about sharing this with as many other parents as possible. Mixed with my love of crafting and being creative (which in itself can be a great mindfulness exercise) Mindfully making it was born.
Before lockdown I was running the workshops from Kookies crafts and for the last few months we have been operating online. In September I will be starting in person classes again, alongside the online offer. Plus exciting new evening and weekend sessions.
The sessions are made up of a mixture of simple mindfulness exercises to help you feel calmer and more connected to you. Plus a fantastic range of fun crafts for you and your little ones to enjoy together.
“Had a lovely time
at last weeks session. A really welcoming & relaxed group, with lots of time for chatting to other mums. My three month old has enjoyed playing with his new sensory toy
“I absolutely ADORE Mindfully Making It – it’s a fantastic group that allows me and my little boy an opportunity to get creative, relax and surround ourselves with like-minded Mummies! Now more than ever, I’m loving the online group sessions – they really do lift my spirits and provide me with something to look forward to each week. I cannot get enough of the Personalised Craft Packs that Antonia puts together for the sessions; it takes out all of the stress of trying to ransack the house for bits yourself, and it’s like receiving a little present as there are always some bits included just for Mummy! ♥️” – Alice, April 2020.
“Most brilliant new mum group… great to include
mum and start baby/children in great therapeutic practices with mindfulness and crafting. Run by fabulous patient women who makes everyone feel welcome.” – Vicky, March 2020.
Our original class, aimed at newborns -movers (roughly 6 months but depends on your baby, essentially this is for babies that are still relatively still or happy to sit in a highchair and have their feet painted and things like that). In these sessions we will focus on sensory crafts/toys and creating adorable keepsakes.
The follow on class from babies is mini mindfulness. Similar to babies but adapted to suit those busy little beings that want to move and explore more. These sessions will focus more on creating more messy play/artwork and projects that span over a number of weeks, for example DIY sensory boards or bedroom door signs.
A fun and relaxed way of introducing mindfulness and crafting to the whole family. The Friday session is perfect for those with young babies and toddlers and the monthly Saturday session is aimed at children of school age (4+). However all ages are welcome, the new monthly Saturday session will be during term time and I will be organising holiday specials for when the kids are off – more information coming soon.
A very special session just for YOU.
I am super excited to be offering a
monthly evening session just for mamas.
A time to truly focus on you and your mindfulness practise, whilst getting to know a wonderful bunch of like minded women. There will be a monthly theme and craft or you can bring your own personal project. Refreshments will be provided.
